I read that too, but what baffles me is why does Maven deserve a title shot? He hasn't done shit. I mean, obviously he will job to Y2J, but it's fuckin pointless.
IT'S TIME TO PLAY THE GAME-AHHH!

You know what im scared of since Maven eliminated Undertaker last week if they had him win the belt and be like the ultimate underdog that would absolutely suck!I dont put anything past WWF but I dont think it fits in the story line right now anyway.

If I could venture a guess, I'd say it's to further the angle with the Undertaker. Jericho will be smacking Maven around, then out comes the Undertaker to kick Maven's ass some more. Yeah, it is pretty pointless.
They may also be showing more of him now because the new Tough Enough is gonna debut in about a month. They might be trying to make their original winner more visible to further interest in the new season.

seven's got it right. if people see that the winner of tough enough is doing something in the WWF then more people will want to try out and more people will watch the show. that is bullshit though, some people never get to wrestle for the championship and i dont' think he's earned it.
thanks to WWFallon
and Gvacnomore for the
money sig!

I think its pretty cool hes getting a shot but I also think its a travisty that it takes Jericho forever to get a push for a world title and now he has it for 2 months and he has to defend against a guy who hasnt even earned his stripes yet.How does Maven get T.V. time and Raven Credible,Dreamer etc. do house shows.

Maven reminds me of a young Virgil.
Cake or Death? Uh, I'll have the cake please.

Another Vince move that has the people talking. I just hope the match is entertaining.

How many times does Maven do the drop kick? I say at least 6. That's his only move.

Maven, I saw five minutes top and as Se7en said, Taker will interfere and cost him the match and maybe the Hardyz will attack Taker.
Maven should wear a mask and get a gimmick. How about an evil teacher and use Triple H's gimmick on Drew Carey... "The Displinarinan?"

The latest rumor I'm hearing is that the WWF may bring in Harvard Chris to feud with Maven.
I'm not sure how I'd take that. Oh wait, I do! Badly.
It's nice to see them giving Maven exposure, but he's just not ready for anything remotely resembling a permanent spot in the federation.

My theory is this...
1) Maven will get jumped by Taker, setting up a program.
2) Maven and UT have a decent match at NWO, with UT getting the win.
3) Blowoff at WM, with Maven being the one to break UT's undefeated WM record.
That's the setup - at WM, UT is UNBEATABLE, and Maven's facing daunting odds.

i can see that happening, Tenbat. Taker has always been willing to help out the up and comers, even at cost to him. It once again shows how, even though his skills are failing, Taker is, and always will be the heart of the WWF.

Of course Maven won't win the title. He is too inexperienced. Unlike Kurt Angle.

I would have to agree and disagree. In the past, Undertaker HAS been willing to put over younger talent, like he did with the Rock. But the jury's out with Maven - yeah, he was obviously okay with booking Maven to eliminate him from the Rumble, but he's slaughtered the kid every time after that (to the point where it's almost needless). I don't know where they're going with Maven, and I guess we'll have to wait and see.
BUT, Undertaker isn't quite so magnanimous. He's supposedly bitched to management about Mike Awesome & Sean O'Haire (interesting - two big men who are more mobile and impressive than he is these days, and he complains to management about them...), and we all know the treatment DDP got.

I admit, I thought the Maven Jericho match was entertaining, although at the end I was waiting for the Undertaker to attack Jericho also.
