<font color="deeppink"> I have a 20inch desktop Mac and a 13inch (i think) Gateway monitor...I want to set up the dual display so i have more area to have pages open etc...
I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO DO IT...im looking at forums and stuff but im retarded when it comes to this stuff...
does anyone know what i need to buy to hook them up together and then once i do how will i get them to recognize eachother as like one big thing?
PLEASE HELP!:help:

u can use a standard cable for monitors, and attach it to your mac through the little white converter piece (mine came with my macbook). Its actually just as simple as plugging the things together (as is the case with anything mac), and then, once its up, you simply drag whatever it is on your mac screen over to the monitor.

<font color="deeppink"> ok ur awesome i admit but dude i have two of these connectors and the one with the part that goes into my computer has like a tv and s-out on the other side and the one that plugs into the gateway monitor has a side that only fits in my laptop...UGH...do u think i should go to like best buy with the plugs and say i need a chord to make and "this into a this"?

if you have the plug pictured above it should be fine. Plug the mac converter part into the mac, and then connect the other end to the cable that is connected to the monitor.
It may be a different piece? Not sure. Im no expert, but i was able to connect a huge monitor to my mac using that little converter.
