I loved Fallout 3 so much I may consider the collectors edition but usually those aren't worth it. Plus I will probably spend more money each time the release a DLC for this game.

I'm looking forward to this MORE than Fallout 3 because Bethesda didn't develop it so at least I'm not assured it will be a buggy, barely functioning piece of shit right out the box and because Obsidian developed it. Obsidian is headed up by a bunch of key members of Black Isle who developed the first 2 Fallouts and were working on the original Fallout 3 for Interplay before it was cancelled.

I almost never preorder, but when Fallout 3 came out, I couldn't get it in a store release day, so I did it for this. Also, Amazon is giving $10 credit towards next video game purchase with preorder. I'm actually going to be out of town when it's delivered, so I will arrive back home to my precious cargo waiting for me. Fallout 3 is one of the only games that I got to 100% gamerscore on (and like 95% on the DLC, that fucking ingot collecting bullshit, I refuse to try to get 100 again, I'm sure I have 99)

I'm playing on PS3 and I haven't experienced any of the technical issues mentioned. No freezing or lockups, no long load times (it loads so fast I don't have time to read the bits of info on the load screens) and the frame rate has been steady. Compared to the horrific nightmare I had trying to get Fallout 3 to run this is a dream. I keep expecting lockups and long loads but they aren't happening.

I'm thinking I made a decision early in the game that is gonna fuck me up royal the entire rest of the way. Spoilers upon entering Nipton

So I enter Nipton and meet with the guy in the general store and hear how the Legion has massacred everyone in the village. I walk back out and toward town hall and meet the Legion for the first time. After the conversation I'm not satisfied with what's been said so I break out my incinerator and waste the 5 legionaires and their two dogs. I quickly find out that was the only way i had even a chance of killing them as these motherfuckers are strong. By the time I'm done Ive been vilified by the Legion and as I continue on my way I run into a pair of Legion assassins who say that Caesar has marked me for death. And these two assassins are stronger than the guys I just struggled with. I doubt those were the last assassins I will see. And my incinerator is in desperate need of repairs.

Fuck.

I fucked up along the way and I think I'm going to start my campaign over again later on today. I love the game so far, only a few glitches I have seen and once after saving my Xbox froze up. I've read they are releasing a patch for the consoles soon they already released a patch for PC.

It's like I've been destined not to play this game, I came home early from my trip and have the flu or something, which you would think would be PERFECT to lie around and play video games, but it's the type of flu where moving my eyes gives me a massive headache

I did get to play for a few hours though and am loving it. The negative reviews are mostly saying it's a rehash of Fallout 3, which is exactly what I was expecting. I wasn't expecting anything mid bendingly new, just more hot fallout action, which is what I seem to be getting.

Some merchants can repair for you (I'm not sure how far you are yet, but I definitely know the lady at the scrap yard can), or if you find the same weapon, you can repair it through your Weapons screen by pressing Y

As I'm going deeper in the game I'm getting more freezes. But I've yet to run into a bug that fucks a quest up like I did a ridiculous amount of times like I had happen in 3.

I can't wait to finish up my first run through and then give hardcore mode a shot.

I've got some kind of situation right now where my 2 followers disappeared. They are not visible and they are not attacking, but NPC characters are talking to me like they're still there. VERY annoying.

DO NOT try to go to Vault 34 until you are higher level, or at least save RIGHT before going in. I started exploring and it's a shitstorm in there, I got lost and opened a door and the game autosaved and my last save was like 3 hours prior. I almost wasn't able to get back out. It could be the evilest level ever fucking created for a game.

So I took the quest from the NCR Correctional Facility. In the end, you get the option to side with the NCR and take out the Powder Gangers at the prison. I choose to do this, I'm pretty sure I'm successfully completed the quest, but whenever there is a news report on the radio, it mentions a "failure" to retake the prison by NCR forces. What gives? Also, I'm not sure if the prison is supposed to switch to NCR control, since I still have the vilified reputation, when I look it up on the world map.

Don't wipe them out.

Fuck...did the same thing. Assaulted the prison trying to help out Primm and I heard the same stuff coming from people's mouths. Well I guess we all can add that article to the Fallout Wiki article about New Vegas.

By the way, there are three options for Sheriff. 1. The guy from prison. If he takes over he becomes an authoritarian dick. 2. Talk to Lt. Hayes - the NCR commander in Primm, then you can try to get him more men, after which he'll make his sergeant the sheriff and Primm goes under NCR control. 3. Make the robot in the casino the Sheriff.

Option #2 is also appealing because the pussy deputy gets super pissed, since he gets fired after NCR takes over.

I've been trying to save pretty much every 10 minutes... One of those freezes set me back like 4 hours. They need to patch it again.

Also a companion annoyance glitch:

When you get to the Lucky 38 Casino, they won't let your companions in. You would think they would just come with you when you get out, but I got out, they followed me, I fast traveled, and they weren't there. People were still commenting on them as if they were there, and I could not add any additional followers because I was "full". I finally went back to Lucky 38 and they were both standing there, had to ask them to follow me again. It was very annoying and drove me nuts for a while.

I have it on PS3 and it is running pretty well. I didn't get a crash at all until deep into the game. And I've only had a couple total.

The reason I got it on PS3 is because I got Fallout 3 on PC and it was by far the biggest nightmare I have ever had trying to get a game to run. And even when I got it to run it still crashed all the time. And this past summer when I tried playing again quests were being destroyed by bugs left and right.

The experience I'm having with New Vegas is light years beyond that.

Here's a fun glitch:

I go to Gun Runners, start buying things and decide to pick up some new armor. I buy the armor and sell the armor I'm wearing, it then pops up to tell me that I'm no longer dressed as a member of the NCR and I hit "A" to get past the screen and instead it starts selling off my guns. I can't get off the screen because the button that removes the message is being used right now to sell guns and I can't do anything else.

I have found 1 or two skill books that upped my skill points. It seems they just put in a shit ton of the ones that temporarily boost skill by +10

As for bobble heads:
When you get to New Vegas, there is a "New Vegas Medical Clinic" where you can purchase implants to up your stats by +1 for each implant. They are 4,000 caps each. They also offer two other ones for 12,000 caps each, one to increase damage threshold, and one to make it so you regenerate health automatically.

All three of mine got out.

I convinced the crazy human ghoul to not sabotage the launch and to go to Novac. I also fiddled with the launch computer and adjusted the trajectory to a better one.

I did it "right" the first time and one of the rockets still crashed into the facility right behind me (same karma and rewards as making them blow up)! Were you guys able to get all three to make it out?!?! I kind of hope that if you do that that as you're exploring the Wasteland you periodically come across areas that have been fragged by the rockets!

Now I'm off to raise the bomber out of the lake! Good thing I remembered that there was a pressure cooker in the kitchen at the NCR's embassy in the strip!

Mine all got out, I also adjusted the trajectory at the launch computer, maybe that's what you have to do to not have one crash.

I have it on PS3 and it is running pretty well. I didn't get a crash at all until deep into the game. And I've only had a couple total.

The reason I got it on PS3 is because I got Fallout 3 on PC and it was by far the biggest nightmare I have ever had trying to get a game to run. And even when I got it to run it still crashed all the time. And this past summer when I tried playing again quests were being destroyed by bugs left and right.

The experience I'm having with New Vegas is light years beyond that.

Man I remember FO 3 on the PC. I still haven't been able to finish it. The bugs were insane

they did an episode of Deadliest Warrior with Pirates where they included the Blunderbuss in the arsenal. they shot it a few dummies that were just decimated afterwards i think.

The bugs for fo 3 on PC were awful. I never finished it after the second time a quest became impossible to finish because of script bugs.

Is this stable on PC? I want to buy it but my memories of FO3 on PC still haunt me. I refuse to play games like this on a console. So it is PC or nothing for me.

I think it's the same results regardless in terms of karma and reputation, but still fun!

The patch helped a lot, but I just got a silenced pistol and every time I draw it the screen gets a "glare" like the character is looking at the sun, and all other characters on the screen vanish and you can't see the weapon!

Playing this made me want to crack open my old Fallout 1 CD-Rom, but it won't work on my PC! The colors are all screwy!

Supposedly you do a start and stop from building to building, trying to get to the fence as fast as possible. I could never get the timing right, so I just boosted the hell out of myself and did a mad dash for the fence, barely made it.

I've got Boone the sniper with me as my companion (he kicks ass, by the way!!!!) and when I got near Nells the Boomers started fragging us in the ruins, but after I was knocked around they ended up just targeting him so I was able to get cover by some big rocks and then make a dash to the fence!!! Then you're able to talk to the person shooting at you!!! Fortunately Boone is a tough S.O.B. and he was just knocked out!

3. As soon as you hear the bomb being shot, go to pip-boy and do these chems:
a. Buffout
b. Med-X
c. Slasher
d. Turbo

4. When you get hit, open pip-boy and start using super-stimpacks.

Rinse and repeat.

Between the stimpacks and the chems it will be expensive, so if you're short on cash, you might want to try the other way around - through the train tunnel. I think you need a high lockpick skill to get in, so if you have that, go for it.

I went through the train tunnel, problem is, I did it backwards. I survived artillery and found a tunnel that brought me somewhere near Bitter Springs. There was also a fun glitch where you can't get into a room because a staircase doesn't really exist and you fall through the floor.

The Anti-Materiel Rifle is my favorite gun in the game. It's very satisfying to shoot a deathclaw and watch it go flying backwards.

I hate those Deathclaws, and this new game has some monster ones! I took them out in the quarry with the big .50 cal gun from the top of the control center, but I set mines along the belts to take care of the smaller ones that could follow me up there!

It's probably a bug, unfortunately! I became idolized by them and I was able to go in and out of the gate without any troubles regardless of what I was wearing!

I had a big problem with the Brotherhood of Steel; they just got trapped in an endless loop of preparing for the trial of their current leader so I never got power armor or had their backing when I fought for an independent Vegas at the Dam!

You probably told him to wait somewhere, so as a loyal robot, he's still there.

Luckily, I'm on the PC, so whenever I lose a companion, there are nifty console commands to put them at your location.

If you've gotten far enough in the game, while reading up on some other stuff, I read that he can also show up in the Presidential Suite.

Edit: Upon further reading, I've also read that there is a glitch where ED-E can explode and never return... even though he still shows up as a companion. He can also get fucked up after completing the "ED-E my love" quest.

My game is so bricked right now. My auto save is corrupted, the save I was using because I know how the strip freezes wont load, it just freezes on the roulette wheel screen, and my next closest save would have me re do a bunch of boring shit I dont want to re do (which I've already redone), plus puts me right back at the strip which is hopelessly broken for me.

Jesus, the epicenter of your game is the strip and your achilles heal is the auto save, and yet there are no fast travel points in the strip ensuring you need to constantly go through doors and roll the dice on loading the strip, over and over and over.

I'd love to keep up with this game, I've barely gotten to play it, but Deadspace comes out next month and I know that shit wont constantly freeze on me.

I went in at 30. The hostiles in dead money are taking all of my shots in vats to the head with .357 and atleast one critical to go down. If you kill them without a critical they can come back to life, so you have to cut up their corpses. You lose all of your weapons, meds and armor going in, I picked up decent armor pretty quickly and eventually you start finding weapons, but everything is pretty scarce. Thats why I say its playing more like survival horror than just another set of quests in fallout.

I would say wait until you're deeper in your 20s before going in.

Ok I know it has been a while since anyone posted in here, but I am stuck with something. I am up to "For the Republic part 2" the area where I am supposed to deal with the Brotherhood of Steel. I am in with them, and am looking to do the solution where they work with the NCR. Problem is McNamara wont talk to me. He just keeps saying that thing of "I need time to think outsider before lifting the quarantine." Is there anyway to get out of this bug???

I dont think I can sabotage the bunker either. I get in the area where it is supposed to be (Hidden Valley) and the mission just goes no where. So pissed too cause I spent this much time on this game and to have come this far and this happens. Was I supposed to kill House or not work with Yes Man so much? I worked with Mr. House up to "The House always wins part 5" then I disconnected him.

Fucking bugged game!!

Ok I know it has been a while since anyone posted in here, but I am stuck with something. I am up to "For the Republic part 2" the area where I am supposed to deal with the Brotherhood of Steel. I am in with them, and am looking to do the solution where they work with the NCR. Problem is McNamara wont talk to me. He just keeps saying that thing of "I need time to think outsider before lifting the quarantine." Is there anyway to get out of this bug???

I dont think I can sabotage the bunker either. I get in the area where it is supposed to be (Hidden Valley) and the mission just goes no where. So pissed too cause I spent this much time on this game and to have come this far and this happens. Was I supposed to kill House or not work with Yes Man so much? I worked with Mr. House up to "The House always wins part 5" then I disconnected him.

Fucking bugged game!!

Are you on the PC? If so, you can reset the quest, I think.

Nahhh. I am on the 360 version. Read of a way to fix the bug, but have yet to try it out. So frustrated that I got that far, and to have a stupid glitch like this...queerness.

This is why I hate the modern DLC culture. I've stopped playing that game months ago, now they want me to pick it up again for 2 hours of game time? Whatever happened to good old expansion packs and, you know, actually putting everything you want to put in the game, instead of saving it for DLC?

There was a update for 360 just now when I launched the game. It was'nt a big update hopefully it fixes the problems.

The patch for the patch was released early this AM. I got back into playing this game and I'm almost towards the end. I think I might start over again if all the glitches are fixed.

They other two are coming out in June and July so I guess a Game Of The Year won't be far off. That's how I played Fallout 3 I just bought the Game Of The Year.

If you ran into the "ED-E My Love" bug (if you've not been able to complete it) you may want to hold off if you're far into the game. Apparently some of the DLC can't be used if you've already uncovered the ED-E bug.

I lost ED-E in Vault 22 there were a few tricks you could use to get him back but none of them worked for me.

I'm still on the first DLC hopefully I'll finish that today and start the new one. Then I'll do another play through on this game.

For some reason I can play Fallout 3 and FNV multiple times.

I found a bug. Do not save a game in front of a cave, it will never load. At least not on an X-Box 360.

Well, when I turn it later, I'll be putting it to a test. My last saved game was in front of a cave.

I just finished Dead Money and it was dreadful. I spent most of the time trying to find the safe pixel so I wouldn't blow up and when I wasn't doing that I was loudly cursing at my television about the fact that they took away all of my powerful weapons and tons of ammo to give me some spears, a cheap pistol and a bear trap glove.

Luckily for me, when I finished with the add-on ED-E hadn't gone mad so I can continue using it.

The next problem I'll face, however, is that I'm about to hit the level 40 cap before I've even made it into The Strip. It kinda removes some of the desire to push on to the end of the game. I suppose I could always slow down and wait for the new add-ons to continue to increase the cap.
