Groundhog Day is when I start thinking about spring!

i know GH Day is February 2
and it is still really winter
but it's when I start to feel
like the worst is over

all of a sudden it's still
light(ish) at 5:30 PM
then in 2 short weeks
it's Valentines Day
and then it is just
2 short weeks to March, when
things start to come back to life

every year when February comes, i get optimistic that winter is over. then there's a freezing cold spell or a blizzard that reminds me that winter's not done yet.

i've lived in NY my whole life, and yet i still get fooled every year by this awful, bleak month.
