As for 1., the droid's keyboard STINKS ON ICE. It's one of the main reasons why I didn't get the droid.

I'm not anti-Android or anti-Droid. It's just the keyboard doesn't work for my needs.

He still hasn't come up with an answer on why the droid has such a lousy form factor.

The shape, size, and functionality of the external area of the phone.

If a phone is bulky, heavy, or has a bad keyboard, it detracts from the form factor.

So by "form factor" you mean the physical keyboard.

Ill admit its not great but I, myself, rarely use it since Swype came out. It really is great. So then when you get rid of that factor your phone fails in the other areas you, YOURSELF, give as criteria for "form factor"

I don't know where mexi gets his facts, but I checked a few sites and he's got a bunch wrong. CPU: both are the same speed (600 whatever's). Bulk: iPhone slightly smaller overall (it wins on 2 of3 dimensions, but it's really quibbling to make a big deal of the miniscule difference). Weight: droid 6 oz iPhone 4.8 oz. Yes, droid is 25% heavier. I look forward to his updated list of grievances.

I was comparing the HTC touch pro 2 VS the Motorola Droid.
(hence the keyboard)

FYI Moto Droid CPU speed is 550Mhz. 50 less than iphone

I work in the show production field live sound and lighting. Mainly I'm a lighting designer/ lighting tech.

Previously before the iPhone/iTouch/iPad the only way to do this was with a PDA. I have co workers who have android based phones and they use iTouches to do this since the droid can't. Being able to get up from behind a massive lighting console to walk around and do what I need to do saves lots of time and manpower. Whit the iPad I now have a much bigger screen to see the virtual lighting console.

I love my Droid, but I also love my iTouch and iPad. I have different uses for all three devices, although some of them do overlap. When my droid gets netflix and slingbox, I'll certainly buy them and enjoy them. But both of those apps, along with Simplify and Air Video, work better on the iPad. And reading on the iPad is exactly the same as reading a "real" book. I can do that on my droid, too, but it's not as satisfying of an experience. Last night, I did my entire show prep for my dumb podcast on my iPad, and instead of a stack of papers or a second laptop I have what I need in an easily readable, yet non-bulky format.

I'm sure Mexi (no offense, my friend) and the other anti-Apple guys will again bash me for this, but the main point is they work FOR ME. I don't give a shit if they don't work for others, as I'm not pushing them or trying to be the authoritive voice on technology.

Im not seeing the reason why the droid can't other than the fact no one has made an app for it. The thing on the ipad,touch,phone just looks like athird party app that could be ported to the android OS. then you could have multiple of those open at once as well. The reason you can do it on there is someone made the app. You should talk to some devs to see if they can get it ported to the android operating system, as i dont see any reason why the iphone could do it over the droid.

If someone wants to you can do it on the droid. There is no doubt about. And maybe something you should think about doing. Then you can add it to the market and then charge for it. You could make a dollar or two from your friends who buy it. Or you could make a hundred or so if there is plenty of people who want it for that device and there just might be.

There. And easy way for you to make money.

im more making shit out of the fact that there are people who this device WONT work for and that will be it due to its name starting with a lower case "i".

If it "works" for you then i guess you have a reason. but i think for 500 you could get a laptop and run that off the droid via wifi. Then you have flash as well. and multitasking.

But i don't know what your main intentions for the device are and you might not need those things.
