why would you buy a ford?

because it's the best made of the big three?

But I want to hear what OTB's problem is.

And yes, I'm pro-Ford.

The Edge, F-150, Mustang, and Fusion have all won major awards in the past three years.

Also, Ford's strategy to get out of the recession has been lauded.

I'm not "American vs. Foreign", I've just always liked Ford.

an engineer for ford would be way to smart to be involved with this board...

then again, if they were that smart, maybe they'd build the fords better.

carry on.

No. Ford divested a lot of it's problematic properties awhile ago. They are with Tata now. That was part of the Way Forward plan.

have the government pay people extra cash to get a ford is a strategy?

i already said the trucks are decent. The edge looks like a piece of shit and so what if they won awards. the past THREE YEARS. and then it falls apart in year 4.

And mustangs suck. Yea i wanna buy a car that is only useful in straight lines. Thats the biggest problem with most of the american vehicles ive driven.

America does know roads are windy and cars are really fun when they are nimble right?

Snoogs, I'm on my third Ford. No problems so far.

Of course, I also have a bumper to bumper warranty for any and all problems, but I haven't had to use that yet.

how many miles do you keep a car for?

and im not sayin they all fall apart. Just more so than most other cars, fords have MAJOR problems.

If it makes you feel better, the highest new car lemon rate is BMW because of all the complicated electronics when the germans have to wire them for the US. Same reason audis have alot of electrical problems.

For the most part, if you take care of any car it will do ok and most people dont keep cars for 100K miles anymore

Snoogans
01-26-2010, 01:02 PM
but keep in mind my other point. my biggest problem with american cars is how they drive. They dont drive or ride or handle near as well as most japanese and german cars. Korean cars I have no clue, though Hyundais have become very reliable but i have never driven one

'08 expedition.....for the most part I love the truck, just annoyed as hell at the moment

if something does break the parts should be inexpensive with all sorts of after market options

I'm pro-ford as well and agree that its the best of all the big three. I wouldn't drive a GM product if it was given to me because of the absolutely brutal way my family was previously treated by those cock gobbling crayons, my company has a deal with Chrysler so all our corporate vehicles are from them and they feel exceedingly cheap.

As for the problem its not a big thing just bloody stupid. Needed to change the washer pump and despite them all being within 6" of each other the bolt/nuts I needed to remove took three different sized sockets.

Fords are notorious for electrical problems. I know too many (myself included) who can attest to that.
Then again my last Ford was made in stupid Canada.

I like that they didn't come with their hand out like Oliver Twist

How did you know. Once the lease is up on the ford I'm getting a sequoia. Nice ride!

Was probably built by a filthy frenchman

HA, nice. It is really nice. I actually posted it cause it was, in my opinion, the nicest truck not from the US thats around the size and price range of an expedition
