So I noticed it costs an extra 3 bucks to listen to XM online now. Is there any way to get around this? Or does anyone want to be nice enough to share their username and password?

Sign up for the sirius online free trial. When it expires, signup with a different email.

sidenote: is there a "show thread" anymore created each day if there is a live show?
sorry to leech onto your thread

XM and SIRIUS have sucked recently. I have been getting a message every once in a while on XMRO that my account has been deactivated. I just called XM and the lady tells me I never paid for XMRO. Which is total bullshit - I signed up right when they started announcing they were going to start charging. So they just charged me again. I am paying for the best of XM in our car and we're not getting it. I love satellite radio but the support/billing has been terrible...

xmro has really been shitting the bed the last few months.
when the xmro was free, we werent having nearly as many problems. i thought service was supposed to improve when you paid for it.
i dont WANT to pay for the xm online, but as my radio receiver wont get signal in the office, i have to. its either that, or i kill my coworkers.
this merger was the worst thing to happen to xm. the existing xm customers got shafted with the loss of radio stations and the depth of the musical library. do we really fucking need whole fucking stations dedicated to the greatful dead and the bruce?:wallbash:

Agreed - and i wonder if their support is in India or something. It was like talking to a brick. I kept explaining to her that I paid for XMRO before they started charging but she just kept repeating that I never paid for it. I'm going back to look at my credit statements. Anyone know when they started charging for XMRO?

I think they started charging around the end of November or so.
I ended up signing up for a free trial (plan to cancel and switch to another email after the 30 days) with sirius to listen online after I noticed the charge with XMRO. You're both right; the quality of service, namely on the XM side of things, has really seemed to suffer since the merger.

ok just checked my statements - paid for a year of xm 8/2008, then it looks like they started charging for XMRO 2/2009 because I paid 121.41 on 1/28/2009. I remember being pissed because it seemed like they double charged me... And they just charged me again and my XMRO is still not working. I don't feel like calling back today - too frustrating. Then I have to do it again at some point for my best of XM in our car...

The service is getting really expensive, I just paid my bill the other day and I'm paying $78 every 3 months for XM with the best of Sirius and online listening. I believe the price just went up b/c of the music royalty fees.

i think i just paid close to 270 for sirius with best of xm in our car - crazy expensive when a year of xm was just ~160 in 2008 - i think they are struggling and looking to nickel and dime people as much as possible...
