Is BBQ sauce just as bad as ketchup?

People with no taste buds seem to slather ketchup on everything. Is BBQ just as unacceptable? It dominates the flavor of a meat many times to the point where you're just eating sauce. Give my meat a rub anyday.

BBQ sauce is awesome, especially the number of varieties of it to suit the meal.

I usually make two sauces a year: bourbon and a honey bbq sauce.

Next spring, I'm making a chipolte one that I love.

I dunno.I've found Sweet Baby Ray's and Cattleman's to be pretty damn good
