If it's a properly made cheesesteak, then it's neither ketchup nor mayo is necessary.
But if the cheesesteak isn't juicy enough, I'll have to add something to make it better. In those cases, ketchup would be the choice.

still ketchup isnt that bad to add to something. if you fuckin load a thing up with it its gross but for a whole cheesesteak i might use the equivalent of 1 packet, maybe. I dont see how that keeps you from tasting a cheesesteak.

I need a condiment with any onion rings . My favorite is a mixture of ketchup and mayo.
Back when I was single and in Manhattan, I had a sandwich shop that I had take out from once a week. The takeout was always the same - cheesesteak and onion rings, and I'd have ketchup and mayo with the onion rings.
And I'd have to have tums later.

Does anyone have the heart to tell him that Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ Sauce is ketchup based, and is its main ingredient?
Aren't most BBQ sauces ketchup based?

We made BBQ sauce for the family this year for Winter Carnival. I spent a couple of weeks canning and mailing out. Actually my kid makes the BBQ sauce for our family for years now. I'm trying to convince him to go pro with it!
