All you need is a good hang bar, pref some music/darts/pool and shit to do, along with a sidewalk for our regs. It really is that simple, and Mikeyboy knew it and did 99% of the legwork in the past. You have to LITERALLY be on Jon every second to line it up, like a 12 year old to clean its room, or the mess just builds. The only difference here is, he fears loss of credit/in with the show/loss of board powers so much, he won't let anyone take the lead. He's had offers for half a decade and refuses to accept. He wants the cred from everyone including complete strangers when it goes right (I've seen it in person with female bartenders and others), but runs home with his ball when his lack of prep and caring fucks the very place he was supposed to throw the party for.

In my 8 years on the board, I've been to four Christmas parties. 2001, 2002, 2006, 2007. Each one of them had their issues. Doesn't mean I didn't have a good time at most of them.

I didn't want to go to any Christmas party this year not because I'm "anti-social" or "coward" as you and Greg like to say. My wife is six months pregnant and she felt incredibly uncomfortable being in a bar because she felt it would be trashy. She also didn't want to get agitated or being in a high-pressure situation or not have a place to sit.

Did I complain about the party? No. I offered alternatives. But I'm not a close friend of Jon so it's not my place to get in his face about the official party. I think if he continues along this way though, it will be bad news. I think he's being pigheaded if he continues to have the party in the city because of the issues and prices connected to it, unless he can get a hotel ballroom or something.
