Just a heads up for all of the Avast users out there.

About 1/2 hour ago my computer started reporting dozens of applications were infected with the win32:delf-mzg trojan. I started a scan and had it quarantine all infected files.

While that was running, I ran a google search (on different computer) and it seems that the latest update of Avast (usually installed automatically) is having all kinds of problems. It will report that many applications are infected and recommend deleting the infected files. If the files are deleted, it can cause all kinds of stability problems.

The Avast forums are apparently flooded so I can't get any info there, but the search I did recommended disabling Avast until the problem is solved

I immediately stopped the Avast scan and reinstated restored the files it had quarantined, and disabled Avast.

If anyone gets any info about an update to Avast that fixes the problem, post it here.

It's funny. I switched to Avast a while back when AVG was giving me problems. Then Avast started giving me problems, and I'm back to AVG. I'm glad I made the re-switch.

You're better off with ADF.
