Buenos Aires, Argentina (CNN) -- A former Miss Argentina died Sunday after complications arising from plastic surgery, the official Telam news agency said.

Solange Magnano, 37, died in a hospital after being transferred from a clinic where she underwent an elective surgery on her buttocks on Wednesday, the agency reported.

It's an odd fact that Buenos Aires may be the diet, hair dye and elective surgery capital of the world. Some people are absolutly obsessed. Having walked downtown on a Friday evening (with half a rod) I can tell you that the competition is fierce!
It seems a bit shallow, but the people who have the money and contacts strive for perfection.
