At one point 24 was my favorite TV show. But even I think he is going too far with this Jack Bauer thing. Come on already...
The ad did say "One more day" does that mean this is the last season? If they announced that this is the final season I would be more interested.

The show will continue if Kiefer wants to and the ratings are good. That just comes down to how much money it is making.
There has been talk of a 24 movie, but it would just have to be a separate entity and just call it Jack Bauer Vs. Evil Bad Guy.
I felt that last year was a very solid and entertaining season. Looking forward to another change of scenery in NYC.

At least the tech has caught up. In this point, 24 is supposed to be about 8-10 years in the future, so CTU NY works as something out of the starship enterprise.

How so? Bubba was mobilizing CTU's strike team, and Cole wasn't there. So the rookie was about to lead the strike team, and Jack mocked him, forcing Bubba's hand to negotiate Renee's freedom in return for Jack's expertise leading the strike team.
All of this does not happen w/o the Dana Walsh subplot.
King Imp
02-26-2010, 08:53 PM
Still a major stretch.
Now, if that Kevin douchebag was somehow involved with the Russians, then that would actually be tying into the main plot. Having Cole going off to find Dana hardly qualifies as part of the main plot no matter how hard you want to spin it.
So, in closing, this was once again a waste of time side plot that both had nothing to do with what's going on and was a major bore.
What's next, the fact that Dana wasn't at her post, thus leaving them undermanned, they missed finding Jack when he was first taken and that qualifies as part of the main plot too? Maybe later on in the season Morris will show up with his and Chloe's kid and Chloe will have to go change a diaper, thus missing key intel on what's going on. Main plot material!

Wasn't that already the plan? I thought they were doing that for the past few years.

I figured that as well... she seemed familiar, but she's not listed in the IMDB cast list. Now I'm intrigued!
Edit... Did some searching, her name is Christina Cox. She played a merc in Chronicles Of Riddick. That's where I remember her from (it was on this past weekend)... she's done a lot of TV as well. Odd though, 24 isn't listed on her resume.

As much as I love this show, it really is the same thing every season so it won't be a huge loss. We know one things for sure. They won't kill off Jack since there is a film in the works.
Is there? I know Sutherland always said that he thinks Jack should die in the end

She was also one of Dexter's victims (cop who killed her family I think), and went lesbo in "Better than Chocolate".
In general, the editing has been horrendous on 24 this season, and I'm so glad Starbuck's done with her southern accent

You may have seen her more recently in Defying Gravity, the cancelled space show.
I agree though, she's too hot to have died that fast. Pretty sure that she'll be a hostage or something or they'll find her wounded later on. These last two and the next one (from what I saw in the spoilerific preview) are going to be awesome.

Would any of these " deals " they make w/ the criminals actually hold up in court ?
it's not like they're using defense attorney.
They could easily just lose the paperwork and/or just as easily lose the criminal.
Why didn't they let Jack torture Dana ? I'm sure he could break her.

Two of the most dangerous jobs: working at CTU and sleeping with Jack Bauer!
Before Rene (RIP) has Jack every slept with anyone during these 24 hour periods?
He usually doesn't even stop to eat or shit, and I only think once during the 1st season did he actually get a little sleepy (while hiding from someone for some reason, I cannot remember now, but a hostage of his tried to take advantage of "sleepy Jack")
Chloe O'Brian is the best person at CTU? Really? She's the best Fake-TV-Tech person there but is she really the best person to take over operations? Really? Is there some kind of twist for this little story line? They could have just pulled someone out of their ass to take over (Someone from "division" to just show up) but they thought Chloe O'Brian was the best choice. Sure.

She can handle a gun, I'll give her that.
And another thing, what happened to Jack going to LA with Kim? Did he ever call her to let her know he wasn't on the next flight out of NY? Her plane must have landed by now (even if she did get a direct flight)

I disagree... she has been very consistent throughout her career - she even sent her daughter to jail. However, once it was discovered that the Russians were behind today's events (and she doesn't know how much of the government is involved), Charles Logan's angle of the greater good vs. Jack's interrogation of one person did make sense, and she took that side, but not lightly.
I thought this was one of the best episodes of this season in regards to character, as there wasn't much action. However, now we got rouge Jack!

I think its more about the peace treaty falling apart if it becomes publicly known that the Russians did all this (not protecting Starbuck), either choice (ignore the Russian plot, let the peace treaty go to hell) is not good, but at least this way they get the peace treaty signed.
You could see that she was not happy about this (during the scene with Charles Logan and Warden Norton from Shawshank) so it's not like she just threw her morals out the window.
The one thing that is not so consistent is Chloe's character, see actually seemed to work well in her new position and was not so awkward with people even when the president popped by.
