One of the biggest reasons AIDS spreads so fast over there is because they are so fucking stupid and superstitous. They seriously believe that if they fuck a virgin if they are HIV+, they'll be cured.

Not saying that there aren't backward as fuck people in Africa, but before we can call them stupid and superstitious, don't forget people here believe we're smarter for thinking that a celibate man can put water on a baby's head and absolve it of a sin it has no concept of understanding.

I don't think it is classified as either, but local rites from what I remember reading back in school.

I think this is already a thread, but I also wonder why are there so many albinos in that area? 10,000? That number seems very high for some reason. Think about how many albinos you have seen personally, and we are in a very populated region.

They stay indoors.

They do seem extremely rare, but I regularly see at least 10 in my town.. And I don't live in an area of large population. Not all of them are full fledged Powder albinos, though.

Body parts of albinos are sought in some regions of Africa because they are believed to bring wealth and good luck. Attackers chop off limbs and pluck out organs to sell to dealers, who in turn sell them to witchdoctors.
