I was reading earlier that Former Philadelphia Eagles Lineman Jon Runyan would be running for U.S. Congress in New Jersey in 2010 (lots of Giants fans and Eagles fans)

This got me to thinking and wondering if some people would decide NOT to vote for someone who played for an opposing/rival team of their favorite team, or if they could look past that. I am sure there are some hayseeds that wouldn't be able to.

So yes or no?

I can't imagine that a football player would make a good politician. But, there is no such thing as a good pol, so I guess any lunkhead will do.

If Mike Piazza ran as a neo-con I'd vote for him and reconsider my political beliefs. How could anyone with that beautiful a homerun swing be wrong about anything?
