This is proof-positive why men should avoid taking fashion advice from women. You are either gay, hate your father or trying desperately to fit in. But why would any rational thinking person want to fit into a fad like skinny jeans? More importantly, how do you fit into skinny jeans?

Yup, what we got here is a bunch pissy, aging clowns. If you were only wearing flannel and ripped jeans in your 20s you looked stupid to the older crowd. If, before that, you were wearing Lycra and big hair YOU looked stupid. Before that, in the 70's, did you dress in the glam style? Or were you a late hippie wannabe? A punk?

They too are free to make shitty choices in style. Don't hate the youth because you aren't young. It's like saying no one is making good music anymore. They are - you just aren't plugged into it.

Irrelevant. It looks terrible. As do skinny jeans on girls who aren't tall and slender. We worked hard to get rid of tapered jeans, dammit, and these cunts think they can just bring them back because they're bored and misunderstood? Boo.

It has nothing to do with hating youth. It has to do with recognizing ridiculous trends that everyone knows look stupid but people go along with just because it's "in."

This is equally retarded:

Exactly my point and therefore not irrelevant. People only bought flannel because it was in. It was marketing. You got your chance to be a sheep and you followed. No big deal. Let 'em wear skinny jeans.

strawberrypop
11-19-2009, 05:32 AM
I was a dumb teenager at the time, just like these kids are dumb teenagers. It doesn't impact whether it looks good or not, but it does impact how one views the trend. To me, flannel and ripped jeans had nothing to do with "in"ness, but with what I thought looked good (coming off of the 80s flamboyance, it looked GREAT), and the music I liked, and what I felt comfortable in. I'm sure these kids will have the same experience with tight jeans and leggings, but it's not about emotional attachments and phases. It looks terrible. You might think that flannels and ripped jeans looked terrible, but I didn't and I don't. They remind me of an important time in my life, and a musical awakening.

So there!

Aggie
11-19-2009, 06:04 AM
I started this thread right after I walked back into my office because I saw two young boys who I guess were here with one of their parents. They had just bought a soda from the vending machine and alone walking through the halls. The oldest was probably 11 and the younger around 8. The 11 year old had on skinny jeans.

It got me thinking, what kind of mother buys those for her kid? I seriously doubt he asked for them (althought I'm not postive) but I just feel like the parents are pushing trends on them, not the kids choosing it.

Plus it looks terrible.

At least the kids that wore flannels or baggy clothes could bring up the valid point it was comfortable. These fucking jeans look more uncomfortable then anything Ive ever seen. Im not the kind of guy to get bent out of shape by the way my kids express themselves, but theres no fucking way on Gods green Earth my son will ever have a pair of pants like that. Not like it matters, theyll be out of style by the time hes old enough anyway.

Oh and any boy that wears these jeans is a fucking homo. Period.

Going to punk rock shows and such, I see these androgenous tweens and teens in this horrible look...skinny jeans (or straight up girl jeans), hi-top dunks, and some shaggy hair with a lot of product. I'll bust balls and ask the geeks straight up if they are guys or girls.

The only thing that makes me happy is that with pants that tight, none of those suckers will be reproducing.

No Shit.

I went and bought a couple new pairs of jeans last week, and even though I specifically stated I was looking for "low rise boot leg", she kept pushing tight fuckin jeans on me.

I finally said "look, I'd wear joggers before I wore those... If the world went to tight emo jeans, I'd be the one person who looks like an ass".

I fucking hate tight jeans.

But they do accentuate my bulge.
