Pizza is always good. How old are they?
Pancakes rock with kids, anything they can mix and learn to measure, and I like the muffin rapped hotdog idea.

We did a chicken parm last night that kicked ass. Fun/easy recipe. Matty did the breading of the chicken and most of the rest. We made a bunch of Marinara a while ago and froze a few containers of it. It was frikkin delicious.

Chocolate chip cookies. But you might want to get pasteurized eggs, since modern eggs are practically poison, and kids can't make cookies without eating cookie dough.

It all depends how you are serving the kid, roasted? Slow cooked?
