I have taken the plunge into torrents, and now I have a file that I want to burn to a DVD. How the FUCK do I do it? I have downloaded at least three programs so far tonight, and all I can get is a DVD with a watermark in the middle of it.
Is there any good freeware out there that will convert video files to dvd format for me?
HELP!

You need to download American programs.
Or... Look for a divx to .vob converter.

mac or pc?
I use mac and rarely have to convert files because I have a dvd player that supports divx.
But, anydvd will convert file types, I think.
Also, I don't mean to be hurtful. I'm practically Canadian.

LOL, I partake in the odd sabres / bills event. Of course the last bills tailgate party scared me, not sure if I will make that trek again.
Anywho.......... I have a PC. I looked at anydvd, but it looks like it is for copying protected dvds. I have an avi file that I want to make into a dvd, but not sure how to do it.

I've never used it, but you can try Avi2DVD. Basically, you have to convert the AVI file to MPEG2 video and AC-3 or MPEG audio, then author a DVD that combines the two streams and includes the necessary menu structures for playback. Just google convert avi to dvd.

I have the convrtXtoDVD, but it leaves watermarks unless you spend $40 on it. I was hoping for something free.

Seriously, you're probably better off just running out and buying a DVD player that can play Divx type files. I have a Philips I paid about $40 for. That's probably cheaper than a lot of the software out there that does it (unless you want to go the full pirate route, you're going to have to pay for just about any program that would do it), and it'll save you a lot of work.
