Music and its effects...

Does listening to disturbing, evil sounding music have an effect on the listener? I enjoy lots of music and listen to bands like tool, rage against the machine, disturbed, godsmack and various others. But do you think by it can bring a reaction out of you and give you a certain attitude or demeanor? I'm not saying that cause a band says its cool to kill someone..you should do it....but it must have some influence or connection to one's well being and attitude. right?

I have the best example of how music can affect us.

I found a kitten on the street and didnt wanna bring it up to my house cause my mom said NO MORE PETS. I kept it in my basement and put Tool on to keep rewinding and playing over and over so he wouldnt feel alone. This cat is the most effed up animal you could ever meet. he's up here and been in the house for two years now but he still hates contact with anyone or anything except my other cat.
