im tryin to convince myself that I didnt see a UFO. I saw the craziest shit just now. This green light just dropped out of the sky all the way to the ground in like 3 seconds

You don't have to live at the poles to see the aurora lights. If the sun has spouted out some serious solar wind in the past day, the lights have been seen as far south as Florida. I saw them myself out on the Long Island Sound years ago.

But what you probably saw was a meteor.

what makes you think it hit the ground? did you feel impact? it was just shooting through the sky and went out of your line of sight, it might have looked like it was falling.

ive seen meteors. For as fast as this thing was moving, it couldnt have been more than like 20 miles away. Im serious, I KNOW WHAT FUCKIN METEORS ARE

The flash of light you saw in the sky was not a UFO. Swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus.
