...that we as human beings are capable of far more than we know, or allow ourselves to believe?

I'm not talking scientifically or intellectually but rather physically.

Do you think we have telepathic ability?

Can we shape change?

Can we walk through walls?

Do we have the power of invisibility?

Is it possible for us to tap into incredible super-human strength?

I think there is a lot more than we know that is possible.
However I dont think that could overpower the laws of physics.
I have always thought I have a little esp. but it is more like a notion that my decisions may lead to a bad result if I don't heed my intuition

I believe that it is possible to manipulate atoms in such a way that you can accomplish anything.

However it will take eons before humanity reaches its full potential. But every generation we inch closer to that point.

Just look at how quickly we adapt to new technology now as opposed to 150 years ago.

Someday this war will be over.........:smoke:

I think this is possible, but the resulting damage to the body (since it is not designed for such feats) would be such that you would be affected for the rest of your life.

I agree, those who worship science don't believe in anything unless they can see some form of proof it exists, which is a sad way to live.

can you imagine going though life thinking that all there is is what you can see?

No, I do not believe any of that is possible, except for the telepathic ability. The mind is very powerful. Almost anything is possible if the mind is open and strong, except for things like super powers, flying, invisivibilty, etc. It is very possible to influence another person to do something they would not want to do, with just the power of your own thought.

Why are you so quick to dismiss "super powers," as you put it?

Have you ever heard of LSD users having super-human strength? They've been known to snap handcuffs and kick out the back doors of police cruisers.

Obviously that power is there, and we just don't know how to tap into it without the use of pharmaceuticals.

I m a scientist and while I seek proof, we still have to hypothesise in order to have something to prove.

That said, in looking at our evolution and the potential I think our brains especially are capable of more. We use a fraction of the total resources available today by our brain, what if we could unlock more? In due time we will have that answer.

tanless1
10-30-2009, 06:11 PM
I believe we could very well have the power to fly or even walk through walls. Id suggest it may be even easier than telecenetic powers. Once we achieve the abilty to vibrate on a molecular level, we could very easily thwart gravity, and interact / mingle through matter.

tanless1
10-30-2009, 06:18 PM
However I dont think that could overpower the laws of physics.

Laws of physics would still apply for personal flight or walking through wall. They are only molecuels suronded by empty space......this can be overcome
....and then we would find away to explain it using physics.

i don't think so on any of those.

It doesn't give you super strength. It just makes you stupid enough to use every bit of strength you have available when punching through a wall. It also kills the pain receptors in your brain so that you don't realize that you've just broken every single bone in your hand/wrist/arm.

absolutely positively yes to every question you said. isnt that what noetic science is all about?

TheMojoPin
10-31-2009, 07:43 AM
Do you think we have telepathic ability?

Maybe.

Can we shape change?

In the broader sense we do "change shape" through the basic act of growing (and then shrinking) as we age. Can we change shape in the immediate "superhuman" sense? No. Our bodies are in no way designed to survive such trauma. Maybe way down the line involving some "super scienced" variations of things like stem cells or nanites, but on our own, no, we can't.

Can we walk through walls?

As in going intangible? No.

Do we have the power of invisibility?

No.

Is it possible for us to tap into incredible super-human strength?

Ideally, yes. Our physical capabilities (how much we can lift, how fast we can run, etc.) are limited by how quickly our brain can process the commands to the body to carry them out. In theory, if you can "speed up" or "streamline" our mental capabilities then our physical capabilities should follow suit.

That's not "super-human strength" as your initial post seemed to imply. People who do those things typically injure themselves doing so but are so high they don't even notice. Doesn't seem like much of an "ability" if after your high wears off you're severely injured.

A better example would be the stories you hear about people who find themselves able to lift ridiculously heavy things to help a loved one who is in danger.

spankyfrank
10-31-2009, 07:55 AM
If the need for any of these abilities becomes essential, then humans will adapt.

However our knowledge has given us the power of technology. Super strength is given to us through the use of machines. Telepathy could actually be synthesized by how we communicate through cell phones and computers.

Basically if we as humans on our own needed these abilities in order to survive they would come through evolution.

Precisely my point.

We've become far too reliant on our "intellect" and technology and ignored a vast, untapped portion of our brains and ourselves.

TheMojoPin

Says who?

Common sense. Someone would literally have to have a previously unknown superhuman ability to be able to "change shape" as you seem to be suggesting. That said, as I already pointed out, "changing shape" runs across a broad spectrum of understanding. We all dramatically change shape over the course of our lives. Some people are able to do so by dislocating joints or being extremely flexible or multi-jointed. If that's what you're talking about, of course. If you're talking about in the superhuman sense that you seem to be since you're also asking things like "can we turn invisible," then no, we do not have that ability.

GregoryJoseph

We've become far too reliant on our "intellect" and technology and ignored a vast, untapped portion of our brains and ourselves.

HAHAHA!

Another case of being limited by what you believe is true.

Expand your mind, Mojo.

Way to ignore the rest of that post.

We simply do not have the ability to physically change shape or turn invisible in a "superhuman way" or even in a practical "natural" way because our evolutionary development dictated that we do not need these abilities. They simply are not there at this point in time.

Besides, it is just common sense that we cannot superhumanly change our forms. Our bodies cannot survive the trauma. This isn't a matter of "mind over matter" or looking at it philisophically...we simply cannot do it. There's nothing that we can conceivably tap into even in the uncharted abilites of our minds that would allow us to do so. The physical template simply is not there.

TheMojoPin
