Anyone else having issues with firefox?
After the last update a few weeks ago its been a pain in the ass and is forever crashing. Seems to be a problem whenever there are more then one tab or window running a java app.
I've been messing around with chrome and so far like it a lot! Stable, fast and no crashes.

On the Linux side I have had crashes especially with NoScript. On the Windows side I have had zero crashes. FF recently pushed out a couple updates on the Windows side, make sure you are updated.

appreciate the comments and yes have done the updates, also tried uninstalling (including going through the registry and removing any firefox content) and reinstalling from scratch but still have the same problems.....I'm having the same issue on 5 PC's
ehhh....I'm getting used to chrome and actually like the more minimalist look (more fits on the netbook's screen) so for the time being I'm done with firefox

That's quite weird and I wonder if one or more of your extensions are acting up. I am one of their registered beta testers for Windows and Linux, I'll check the forums to see if this is a more wide spread issue and what the fix is.

I've had no issues personally. Today I thought I had a lock up but then it freed itself up. Only browser problem I've had in weeks and it could have easily been some auto update in the background freezing my comp up for sec. I mean I don't like that it happened and I'm gonna keep an eye on it but it probably wasn't Firefox.

I thought it might be one of the extensions or add-ons but I've tried a stripped down install with just firefox (3.5.3), java (6/16) and adobe flash (10). What seems to cause the problem/crash is if I get the xm player running then go to any other site that requires the flash player. If it do the same with IE (which I don't like running since its too f'in slow) or chrome no issues.

There are no problems. Mozilla would have fixed.
Uninstall, Reinstall. Add add-on's back in one-by-one with some testing of the browser in-between each install. Sounds to me one of your add-ons is screwing up.
I thought it might be one of the extensions or add-ons but I've tried a stripped down install with just firefox (3.5.3),.
my version here is 3.5.4.
try and update again.,

Re-read what I've already tried. I guess I could try running it without flash or java installed but what would be the point? There's clearly a problem with firefox and something else I have installed on my PC's since they all have a similar software image. If chrome is working fine not really much need to mess around with firefox.

I think at this point I'll wait for the production release of 3.6 and see if that makes a difference.

I did not see any problems with the 3.x browser itself but there are bug reports of Noscript causing FF to freeze but this is pre 3.5.x so I am not certain what would cause your issue.

For whatever reason I can't get chrome to look good on my 1440x900 monitor. I can't get the font to look a decent size and still fit the page.
has anyone tried 3.6 yet?
I'm using it, haven't noticed any bugs yet.

No issues with my desktop running 1680x1050 or the netbooks running 1024x600

Have been since the alpha. No issues yet and I think it's just a tad bit faster.

I was having some massive problems with Firefox consuming vast amounts of system resources, especially when playing Flash. I updated both the browser and the Flash Player, and things are running dramatically better.
