Game types and likes and dislikes

I have personally never seen the appeal to role playing games, and am much more drawn to games like Tetris or Solitare.
I wonder if there are other paralells as far as game types and likes and dislikes are concerned.
Can you list types of games you like and why as well as game types you hate as maybe we can see a pattern emerge?

I realise its off topic within my own post, but I know some people who are into some sports while shunning other sports (baseball vs hockey for example)

I like most game types except for squad based games. I am not the most social person so that might have something to do with it. I have never really gotten into online gaming with other people either.

I love racing, FPS, puzzle and adventure (think Superman, MGS, RE or DMC). I HATE RPG for the simple fact that you have to take turns. For this reason I never played any of the FF games.

I pay like 5-6$ extra for the game channel on directv.
Its a good time killer. And very easy to play. You use the remote.
Games I play most are monopoly, backgammon, dominoes, the pat sajak ones, or scrabble.

I can play Tetris for hours, ald got into this game called Peggle on my iPod and can play that the same. I see these commercials for Halo and I have zero interest in it. The graphics are cool, but that's about it. I see these other games I can pick from on iTunes and if it looks like a RPG I will just move on.
