This week Shop Rite had a sale on a beef trio. I picked up 13lbs of beef. It includes a roast, stew meat and swiss steaks. I've never had or prepared swiss steaks. Would anybody happen to have a recipe for it? Thanks!

Swiss steak is a tough cut, like a chuck roast.
Cut into cubes, roll in flour, then braise in a hot pot with olive oil.
Add diced potatos, baby carrots, celery and sliced onion. Then a can of cream of mushroom soup, a can of water, an envelope of onion soup mix.
Bring to a boil, then simmer for a few hours.
Well, that's how I do it anyway. Give it a try.

I'm going to try it that way. I have 6 slices, I'll put the other 3 for of us and freeze the rest. Thanks Tub!

Another suggestion, brown on both sides in a pan. Add a can of tomatoes (diced, or chopped, or stewed, seasoned ones=better, whatever) and about half a medium onion, rough cut.
Cover and simmer. As stated before, it is a tough cut, so longer is better.
Put the tomatoey goodness over rice or pasta for a side.

Thank you Farmer Dave. I can try both recipes since I have six cuts and there's only 3 of us. I love when men give cooking tips!

Dude, she already bought it. We are helping her prepare it so it is pallatable.
It has a higher fat content, so there is a lot of flavor. The key is to slow cook it for a long-ass time and it becomes quite tender.
FYI, my dog gets the leftovers.
