For me it is very Easy, Fuck Philly, I hate the town, the people, the players and the team
I know I should cheer for the NL and not against our Big Brother (Yanks)
But I don't hate this Yankee Team, and am enjoying A-Rod's monster play, because it angers the Jeterists
What say you....................
Please Note that If You think I will Jinx the Yankees, I could care less, because I hate arrogant Yankee Fans...... I hope my cheering for them helps injure C.C

I'm not a Mets fans, but that the local team I take my kids to see. I can't in good conscience ever root for the Yankees.
The thought that A-Rod is going to get a ring sickens me to no end. Pity he couldn't do it in Texas like he said he wanted to do. You know, because t wasn't about the money there.

i hate the whole 'true Yankee' thing. i've always been an ARod supporter and my friends would always say he isn't a 'true Yankee'...wtf does that even mean. So I'm guessing if they win the world series this year he is one. I like it better when i'm in the minority liking the guy. and i'm sure most of my friends will forget the arguements we had about the guy the past few years and will love him.

No, he was genuninely horrendous in the playoffs in very small sample sizes in 2005 and 2006, but was good with the Yanks in 2004 and 2007 as well as in the playoffs before signing with the Yankees. He's been, however, very good in the playoffs far more often than he's been bad.

my perspective is that Phillie fans that I know already hold one championship over my head, does a 2nd one really make a difference? while the Mets are down, who cares.
The Yankees winning one would quadruple the amount of shit I will get from people. I'd rather keep it contained to one fanbase. Cuz even no matter what Phillie fans say, they are still from that shitbomb of a city.

i have no clue what i'm going to do. i can't imagine ever pulling for the yankees, but the phillies are just as irritating at this point. i think the x factor, that's right x factor, is pedro. i still love that guy and it would be nice to see him close out the yankees.
The best argument I've heard so far is that if the Phillies win, those fans will aggravate Mets fans at a few games at Citi Field next year.
If the Yankees win, they'll aggravate Mets fans through radio, TV, magazines, a World Series parade, and pretty much every way possible, every day for the next year.

*This type of notion doesnt work with the Mets fans exactly because even though they are Phillies rivals there has been a longstanding hate between Yankees and Mets fans also. So I think youll see more split up along both lines with them.

I had this conversation last night. Although the Phills and Mets have been a little more of a rival the past few years due to neck and neck runs and some trash talking, they really aren't true rivals in the scale of a Yanks-Red Sox rivalry.
I'd have no problem rooting for the Mets if they were playing the Yanks, and I went to a subway series once and, just to enjoy the game, rooted for the Mets to beat the Yanks.
