Vince's Secret Revealed! (Smackdown Spoilers)

At the Smackdown tapings tonight, Vince revealed his secret to the world, the cryptic message that he left Ric Flair. And that secret is...

...the N W O!

No big shocker, huh? Word is, all throughout the Smackdown broadcast, Vince will be shown talking to someone in a dimly lit room, talking about how Ric Flair is a cancer that is killing the WWF. And, in order to destroy that cancer, Vince has to inject his own beloved WWF with a new poison - the NWO. No NWO member is officially seen, however, but this Smackdown Vince will officially announce the NWO as being in the fed.

I'm torn about this. On the one hand, this could be what's needed to give the federation a shot in the arm. On the other, Vince took the DREAM angle, what could have been the best wrestling angle EVER, that being the WCW (and to a lesser extent, ECW) Invasion, and he ruined it. Will this NWO invasion be the same? I hope not.

Hmmmmm lets use a gimmick that caused the another federation to fold up...now thats a good idea. I have a better one, lets turn the gas up all the way and close all the windows. The NWO Gimmick didn't cause WCW to fold. Not having a second act and trying to milk the gimmick for years w/o a fresh idea killed WCW. In Vince's hands the NWO can work and be fresh.

I think if the angle is used and played out correctly it will be exactly what the WWF needs in order to return to the dominance it had several years ago. I am all for the nWo invasion.

The reason that the nWo didn't work was because WCW didn't take it all the way.

They also hurt the story by ressurecting it three times.

It became a sideshow for ratings, and it stopped working. What killed it for me was Sting.

Here's a guy who didn't wrestle/speak for 15 months. Came in a fought Hogan in a HUGE matchup at Starcade '97 and then six months later, Sting is in the nWo.

I hope Vince has enough sense to take the gimmick all the way, have the nWo take completey over.

i hadn't even thought of that RFmark. if they bring back the horseman to take on the nWo that would be the money. some people got it right, in Vince's hands the nWo will work, he's a genius so don't worry too much. See, I have the exact opposite opinion about Vince and the NWO. Some people are going, "Vince is a genius, he'll make the NWO work."

WILL he? Everyone seems to forget the past 6 months or so. Vince had the biggest angle in wrestling history, the biggest angle EVER - WWF vs. WCW / ECW. Only a retard with 8 brain cells could screw it up. Guess what? Vince did. Apologists give all sorts of excuses, but the fact is that it could have been the biggest angle EVER, but it was a total abortion because of one fact alone - Vince was too much of an egotist to do what MUST be done, and that was let the Alliance WIN. Instead, he just had them squashed week after week, so no one gave a damn.

What made the NWO work? They came to WCW and they literally took over. They did it so much that it became nauseating and by then people were paying to see them get their ass kicked. THAT is what it's going to take again, if Vince is going all the way with this angle. Will he do it, though? Has he learned from his mistakes with the Alliance? I don't know.

If he hasn't, then kill it before it starts, because as much as I can't stand him, even Nash shouldn't have to lay down for Undertaker's horse-faced whore.

I noticed the WCW/ECW invasion storyline was very short compared to the NWO in WCW. I feel that the WWF planned on killing the Alliance to make way for NWO.
