3 volt battery located on the motherboard. It keeps power to the system clock so you don't have to set the clock every time you power your PC on.

Brett...it is possible it could be your CMOS battery if you are seeing that.

It sounds like the little lithium battery that is on your motherboard. Just shut down your PC open it up and pop out the battery and just put another one in the same way. That should fix your problem.

Just make sure you get the same type. There are tons of the little round lithium batteries but on the old one is the number.

Hope this helps.

This. Easy to replace, get a new one at radioshack. May need to reset defaults in BIOS plus system time/date. Easy, go into your BIOS and write down what the settings are before changing the battery so you have a reference after.

Great point. I was going to suggest this. You can test the CMOS battery using a voltmeter to make sure that is the problem. Should be ~3V.

Or just buy a new battery I think they cost like 9 bucks..if it still does it after the new battery..then..I have no fuckin clue. My computer is a few years old and I had to change the battery, pretty easy. Just unhooking everything is a pain in the ass.
