I took the wife out to eat last night to a nice little place I've been going to for 25+ years. Know cost of living varies greatly from here in fly over country to the coasts and cities, heres what we eat and what it cost. What would it cost in your area.

Me:
Prime rib (12oz), baked potato, Texas toast, dinner salad, 2 bottles domestic beer.

Wife: Breaded shrimp(I think there were 6 of them), hash browns/cheese, dinner salad, 1 bottle beer, 1 margarita.

The whole bill was $54.78 before tip. Knock out the alcohol and we would have been under $40.

I know it all relative, but what would this cost in your neck of the woods?

Here in beef country and along the Gulf Coast shrimp aand beef are not as expensive. Out side of Houston $40. Within Houston city limits add $8-10 to it due to tax.

Depends on where you go...in Scranton Pa. The local diner here has all that but the booze..at about 10-12 per plate with 2 veggies and soup....problem is..its shitty quality..now go to another place up the street and it is about 15 bucks per plate...good potatoes, veggies and salad, and you pay 3 bucks domestic/4-5 import or microbrewery.
