So in my time away from the board, I forgot to mention I bought a new car, with Ford's SYNC system.

It's pretty cool, but I wanted to see if anyone else had it or was interested in it.

I've noticed that it doesn't completely seek out all the songs on my Ipod - it only picks up about 1/2 the U2 songs I have on there.

I thought everyone got rid of their Fords during Cash for Clunkers.

I got to use it some when I rented a Focus. It's pretty damn cool. I couldn't use it's seek function, because I was just using my Nexus with recorded R&F shows, but I liked the other features.

My new car has the nSync system. All is means is that a fat and unemployed Chris Kirkpatrick sits in the backseat, eating Cheetos and telling me that he knows a faster way to get where I'm going.

Amen to that. $4500 for a car that had no AC and had one wheel in the grave.

...and bought more Fords. The Focus and the Escape were two of the biggest sellers.

The Explorer was one of the most popular vehicles during the 90's - so of course it would be a big return during Cash for Clunkers.

I bought my wife an Edge. She really likes the SYNC except for the automatic hands free phone.it connects automatically and if you don't disconnect it everyone in the car gets to hear your conversation. This is great with kids.We got her a new phone and she didn't hook it up.

There's actually an option you can set for privacy that allows you to use hands-free w/o it going over the car speakers. I need to delve into the instruction booklet on how to do it though.

Lovin' the SYNC in my wife's new Ford Flex. It does have issues with MP3 files that don't have all that file information filled in. Sometimes I have to say something like "Play Artist Unknown" or something like that to get it to find stuff.

I bought a 4GB flash drive for $10, filled it up with my wife's favorite music and just leave it in USB port in the car.

That's what I'm going to do as well. My Ipod is filled up with a bunch of ridiculous music I'd never listen to regularly, but I don't want to take it off because my music is spread over 5 different disconnected hard drives. I realized it would be cheaper and easier just to get a large flash drive and start over.

I didn't even know you could hook up flash drives until I saw them demonstrate it on Jalopnik. I thought it strictly worked with Ipods and music players. There's a lot more I need to find out about SYNC.

Yes but then I would have to explain it to her.She is probably less dangerous talking without hands free than trying to work options on the SyNC.

Well, my Bronco is luxurious, even has camouflaged seat covers and when it rains I leave clumps of mud where ever I park. It has powered windows and door locks too.
