We are blessed to have a brand new football league

www.uflfootball.com (http://www.uflfootball.com)

there are 4 teams and a 6 game schedule..... Each team has coaches who either too proud or could not land an Offensive / Defensive Coordinator Job

Players are either too proud to be a #3 QB , has beens , or draft picks/veterans who were too proud/ not good enough to play on an NFL practice squad, or were just plain cut

I kinda like football on Wed Fri and Sat.... It may be a disaster, but who doesnt love watching a train wreck

It could either suck lick we expect, or be kinda good and exceed our expectations

Go Sentinels!!!!!!!!!

Failure of a league.

Failure of a poster.

Makes sense, really.

Is He Hate Me back?

I sure hope the UFL can live up to the high standard sets by the XFL and the World League of American Football

side note

so silly that the UFL is barring any of its players from signing a NFL Contract until the Season ends on Nov 29 2009

we all know injuries happen in the NFL

The fact that Ted Cotrell, failed former Defensive Coordinator for the Jets, is the one being pushed on the billboards for the NY/NJ team, tells you something about the quality of the players that are going to be on the field.

Maybe Hershel Walker should have played in the UFL instead of going to MMA.

You may want to try this link instead since the one you posted leads to some lame fantasy football site.

The team names suck, the logos suck and the uniforms suck. Why is everything so generic? They couldn't make actual logos, uniforms and get decent team names? I'll check out the games but jeez. How can they expect to be taken seriously? XFL had better names, logos and uniforms.

So you're for the Loco's AND the Sentinels? Geez don't be a hog by calling half the league.

Did they have a turquoise uniform sale at Looser Uniform Depot? I can barely tell the difference between the two team's uniforms.

Thanks, I just put it on. I had no idea this was on (way to publicize your innaugural game, deeks.) These are the gayest uniforms I've ever seen. And the refs. look like they just pulled them off of working the cash registers at Target.

And to Jim Fassel and Denny Green all I have to say is: "Hahahahahahahahahahah!!!! The CFL wouldn't even give you a job!!

I'd like to know what you base this on since any news about this league is very scarce. After your post I Googled it just to be sure and it says that they are not releasing the particulars of coaches' salaries. However, there is a salary cap for the entire team staff (coaches, front office, guys who clean the jocks etc.) of $3 million. I think Fassel made $2.7 million his last year with the Giants.

I was referring to the UFL HC salary as compared to the CFL HC salary.

And yes, they are being paid much more.

The UFL opens play this week. What is this thing? Here are some facts about the UFL.

The UFL stands for United Football League. The original league name was All-World Football League, but organizers feared AWFL might speak too closely to the league's level of play.

There are four teams in the UFL -- the California Redwoods, Las Vegas Locomotives, New York Sentinels and Florida Tuskers. The small size is by design as many startup leagues launched with too many teams. Whereas the UFL's business plan is designed so the UFL never has to contract more than four franchises at once.

Dennis Green is head coach of the California Redwoods. The Redwoods are who he thought they were, as Green thought they were the only team who was willing to have Dennis Green coach it and he was correct.

The UFL has several rules that differentiate it from the NFL: there is no tuck rule, intentional grounding is not a penalty and both teams get possession in overtime. Also, steroids are frowned upon in the UFL.

UFL tickets range from $7 to $42. UFL officials believe this affordable ticket plan could allow them to make as much as $7 per game in ticket revenue.

The UFL's slogan is "It's All About U." This slogan is designed to have two messages. One, that the league is designed for the fan. And two, that league payroll structure that caps player pay at $200,000 is based off of the one long-used by the University of Miami's football program.

The league's other tagline is "Where Future Stars Come To Play!" ... "As Well As J.P. Losman, Tim Rattay and Brooks Bollinger!"
