Is that too much to ask?!?

I actually prefer that when someone other than me is typing away in a room. I hate it when I'm writing a story then some great big fat fuck sits next to me in a computer lab and proceeds to pummel his keyboard with them sausage fingers until you want to shove a vacuum tube down his throat and suck the fat out of his greasy soul, the goddamn fucker that he is.

The confusing thing about the Mighty Mouse is that it looks like it only has one button, but it responds differently if you click on the left side or the right side.

I don't think it's as good a design as mice where the buttons are clearly split, though.

I like the short cord length on the Mighty Mouse if you use it in conjunction with the keyboard, like you're supposed to, actually. You plug it into either of the USB ports on either side of the keyboard, depending on if you're left or right handed.

There is a version of it with a much longer cord, and there's the wireless one as well, of course.

Jesus Christ, what the fuck are they thinking with all the versions of iTunes from 9 onwards? It was never the best program before, but now it's become a slow-moving behemoth that's a fucking pain to run. I just reinstalled XP within the last month and my computer is running incredibly fast now with all the junk cleared off of it and still the new iTunes runs like shit. I'm really baffled as to why they made some of the chnages they did. Not being able to turn off album art was baffling enough, but now you can no longer, as far as I can tell, actually delete a song from your hard drive from within iTunes. Deleting it in iTunes only deletes it from the iPod and iTunes but you no longer get an option to also remove it from the system. If you want to do that you have to locate the file within your library and delete it yourself.

What the fuck, Apple? It's like they're intentionally making iTunes shittier.

It still works for me. I just tried it.

It could be my imagination, but iTunes has seemed to run more slowly and lose features as I've built up my library. That might be your issue.
Same here. It asks me if I want to delete it from the library as well as from the iTunes folder itself.

The main problem with iTunes for me is that it doesn't recognize my old iPod photo for some reason. But when connected it shows up on my desktop.

So does anyone have any idea of how that function might have been turned off for me? Or how I can turn it back on?

I was looking at my iPod info, not iTunes. I've got the same version as you.

I dunno, if you google search for problems with iTunes 9 you'll find a ton of pissed off people people with a lot more problems than just what I have with mine.

Are you telling me that if I google a specific product, I can find someone on the internet complaining about it? This seems very far fetched.

i would make a quick copy of your itunes folder, delete itunes and resinstall it.
it could just be a fuckup when it upgraded.

Shut up, anusface. There's the usual internet bitching and then there's a product that's clearly causing a ton of different problems for a lot of users.

I have no problem at all right clicking then deleting a file from my iTunes library which also then deletes it from my computer. Also running the latest version of iTunes.

They're an amazingly efficient company.

I did a repair install which didn't fix it so I started digging through the Apple forums to look for an answer. What ended up working is opening up the preferences, going to the Advanced tab and then clicking the "Reset all dialog warnings" button. Once I did that and restarted the program the option to send the file to the recycling bin began showing up again, so if anyone else runs into the same stupid problem, there you go.

I use iWork (particularly Numbers) every once in a while and typically forget everything I learned in between uses. Therefore, I rely heavily on the amazingly in depth video tutorials on the Apple website. These tutorials seem to answer any question I can come up with. I noticed today that most of the tutorials have been taken down and only the most basic tutorials remain. Anyone know why or where I can find the old tutorials?

Maybe they were flash videos.

I got a 27" iMac for Christmas and had to trade it in TWICE for a new machine because of some video card problem that they knew about but kept selling the machines. It doesn't happen to all of them, so it's a crapshoot if you'll get one that works or not. What a Pain in the ASS to box up the fucked up machine, drive 40 miles to the apple store, transfer all my data a total of 3 times until I got the last machine 2 weeks ago that seems to be working fine. (finally). And all I got from Apple was a shrug and a "sorry." I should have at least gotten a free iPod or something for all the trouble.

Disturbing, to say the least.

In China, Human Costs Are Built Into an iPad (http://www.nytimes.com/2012/01/26/business/ieconomy-apples-ipad-and-the-human-costs-for-workers-in-china.html?pagewanted=all)

“We’ve known about labor abuses in some factories for four years, and they’re still going on,” said one former Apple executive who, like others, spoke on the condition of anonymity because of confidentiality agreements. “Why? Because the system works for us. Suppliers would change everything tomorrow if Apple told them they didn’t have another choice.”

I posted this in the Obama thread, but it was just hypocrisy-filled that Obama spent a good part of the SOTU blasting companies that outsource jobs, and then spent 10 minutes slobbering Jobs' knob about how innovative he was and how people should aspire to be like him.

I was an incredibly loyal Apple guy for many years; my first home computer was a Mac that I bought in 1999. When I needed a new one 5 years ago, I bought another Mac.

I've kind of soured on the company, though.

The built-in obsoleteness of their products, coupled with the high pricing, really pisses me off.

My current Mac has vertical lines all through the monitor. It was a known issue with the first generation Intel Macs. Since it didn't happen in the warranty period (even though it happens to ALL 2007 Intels) they won't cover it.

When I brought it to the Apple store to have the monitor replaced, they told me it was considered an "antiquated" machine and they won't even work on it.

I guess I'm just supposed to shell out another 2 grand for a new one.

I had the same problem i fixed it by googling the problem. they told me to reset the video card. a combo of key strokes during boot up. don't remember how, but you can look it up. fixed the problem. came back one other time, but it went away after the reset.

I read an article similar to what came out today over the weekend. It's disgusting what Apple's doing. They are making a sick amount of money on everything they sell.

But it's not gonna end until people stop buying their shit. Them and then every other consumer electronics company down the line. Apple may be the worst but they aren't the only one.

I mean really, when workers have to threaten mass suicide every time they want to be treated with a modicum of dignity in the workplace it's an absolute travesty.

Was yours a 17", 2007 Intel?

I've found no such cure.

Like I said, Apple classified my computer as "vintage" and refused to replace the monitor.
