just follow the trail of bare rib bones on the ground. (I'll be the one wearing a muu muu and BBQ sauce).

I just wanted to share this with the other gluttons in the area.

Wasn't there already a NJ State BBQ Championship in Wildwood?

No, no, no, no. Get it straight!

That was the New Jersey State BBQ Championship and Anglesea Blues Festival (http://www.njbbq.com/).

Proceeds from food and beer sales benefit the Anglesea Fire Department.

IDK what the difference is between that one and the one in Seaside on 9/26, other than that Seaside's is sanctioned by the KS City BBQ Society, whatever that means.

Both were sanctioned by KCBS (I'm a judge for them). What that means is that the Grand Champion is eligible to compete in the invitation only world championship, the American Royale, held annually in Kansas City, Missouri.

To be a state championship a contest must have minimum number of teams competing and meet some other criteria. Not exactly sure what though.

Thanks for the explanation!

I find food judging to be absolutely fascinating.

Maybe in another life I'll go and get qualifications ... it sounds like fun.
