It's been one hell of a week...

One Monday I found out one of my old professors (and current colleague) was murdered over the weekend. It was really tough going into that school last night to teach. It helped that it was late and weren't too many folks around, but wasn't easy to get through the night none the less.

On Tuesday I found out one of my employees' father was shot dead in his bodega on Long Island.

On Wednesday another employee came to me to tell me his daughter was in the burn unit because a frying pan full of chicken grease flipped over and burnt up most of her torso.

I am getting to feeling it might be a good idea to lock myself in the cellar for a few weeks just to be safe...

I will be. I'm having an End of Summer/Birthday BBQ tonight, then tailgating for the Jets-Pats game Sunday. These two gatherings of friends should definitely help me get back on track.
