The title was supposed to be "can I harmmy HDTV"
So I got a new HDTV over the weekend and noticed a RGB (VGA) input on the back and having a cable and a old PC that I no longer use I hoped it to my new TV can this do any harm?
Is there anything cool I can do with it?

I wouldn't see how it would harm anything.
You could always turn the old PC into a Boxee server (or other similar video software)

It will not harm it but the video may not look right. The quality of video depends on the resolution, etc that the vid card allows for. Also the D-sub 15 pin (VGA) port has it's limits too. Best bet, upgrade to a HD capable vid card and avoid the VGA port and use composite (3 color plugs) or HDMI converter.

I have a Windows XP Dell laptop hoocked up to my TV's DVI/VGA slot. I use it as a media server, torrent on it, etc. I watch movies, browse the web, etc. I went ahead and bought this wireless trackball keyboard, and it is awesome: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000MLB6V4
If have a computer sitting around your TV looks ugly or out of place, go to newegg or tigerdirect and pick up a different tower for it. They have media center towers for fitting them into an entertainment center decor. Like this one:
