A night out hosted by me, Tenbatsuzen.

I have two ideas for a night out. I don't expect a lot of people to come, but I'd like to gauge interest for either of these two events.

The first idea is going to a New Jersey Nets game and then perhaps going to Hoboken or something.

I've been meaning to catch a couple of Nets games, and if you all want to tag along, the more the merrier. The more we get together, maybe we can get a group discount.

The other idea is a Rat Pack trip - ties for the guys, dresses for the ladies as we hit a couple of martini bars and brewpubs down town.

I know this isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I'm not really into the whole Mideval times thing and I'd like to give people another outlet to do some cool stuff with some cool people.

2) I wasn't disparaging NJ. I love my state. However, whenever you want to see all the typical bad stereotypes of New Jersey, just look to an average Devils game:

- Mullets
- IROCs
- Obnoxious people.
- North Jersey accents
- Girls with big hair

I could go on...

Remembers, Devils fans are actually Ranger fans who don't know any better.

Vinyl is a great club (my favorite in the city actually), but is more of an afterhours place. In all honesty - it doesn't even really get goin hard until the wee hours of the morning.

also - about the under 21 thing - i know of a few places where we could possibly go where that may not be an issue. (yes, nice places even!) Also, if we meet up somewhere beforehand - and go as one larger group - most places are less likely to be anal about things like ID. ;)

Having a Rat Pack excursion in Atlantic City actually sounds pretty cool, but the problem is the following...

1) It's going to cost mucho dinero if we get hotel rooms.

2) The people from north of the city (Missy, etc.) might not be too into it.

3) You just can't "show up" like other events... you'd have to stick to a schedule to meet the bus.

I know AC very well. There are several possibilities to do this nice and inexpensive.

1) Carpooling - everybody from different areas takes people near them.

2) Getting a hotel *near* Atlantic City - like in Pleasantville on the Black Horse Pike (i.e. Best Western)

I was going to suggest AC for my birthday in March, but anything done on the Jersey Shore is better when it's warmer. This should wait for the spring if not the summer.

Plus, if you take an Academy bus from the Port Authority to AC, you have up to 7 days to return and it will be cheaper then chartering a bus ourselves.
