Using the Word Official and Plugging

Guys,

I hate to have to bring this up again but some of you may not be aware of the rules regarding plugging on the board and using the word official.

Please do not use the word official in your threads without permission from a mod or admin. There are legalities involved with calling your club/party/whatever an "official" Ron & Fez anything. You need permission.

This goes for board events too. Official board events are posted by mods and admins only. For example, "Come to my Official RonFez.Net Garage Sale!" Ask first. We usually say yes, but its not right not to.

As for plugging, the general rule is ASK FIRST. If you want the board members to come to your birthday party, sweet 16, baby shower, etc., ask a mod if its ok to post a birthday invite. Using the board to plug your own personal shit is wrong and considered spamming.

From now on, all threads that have not recieved permission will be moved to the Staff Room and locked. Please state which mod gave you permission to post the thread in the body of the post itself, so we know you had permission.

I fully understand the complications in calling something an "Official" board get together...but the thread that was locked regarding "Medieval Times" was called the "Official Medieval Times Thread"...not "The Official RonFezNet Board Get Together at Medieval Times" and thus I did not feel it warranted any warnings.

im just breaking balls i guess, i understand the rules and whatnot...but with the "official midieval times" thread, it all depends where the intended emphasis was...she could have been using official as a modifier for midieval times as in, "im talking about the 'official' midieval times, not the one MANdrew holds in his backyard every tuesday night at 7:30" (was that a plug?)...it could have warranted asking her intent...but what do i know

I'm not trying to bust balls here...just protecting the board...

I can no more say we're the official site of the Ron & Fez Show than FoundryMusic is of the O&A Show. It's just not right, and if you don't have permission, you could possibly be held liable.

So in ANY denomination, just don't use it...find another word...like "really important"
