Anyone remember calling time? I don't mean calling a timeout. I mean calling a number to find out the exact time. I even remember the number -- it was TI4-2525. I kind of forgot all about it until yesterday when my wife mentioned it. Due to the prevalence of the time on cell phones, cable boxes, etc., I think it's been decades since I've called to find out the time.

Yeah. The robot voice gave the time and the current temperature.

yep, funny, haven't thought of that in years.
I also remember having a milkman when we were very young. It just dawned on me that we have gone full circle. Now with online shopping like fresh direct, the idea of having food delivered to your doorstep doesn't seem as odd as it did about a decade ago.

i was at the gas station the other day and the pump measures in 1000th of a gallon and it takes like 10 seconds to pump 1 gallon of gas, back when we would call for the time the gas was measured in 1/10 of a gallon and you could pump a gallon of gas in about 3 seconds, see whats happened? this is bullshit!

As children we used to call 1-800-GOLF-TIP and a pakistani man would count to 10 over and over again. It was helpful, we leaned to count to ten in a funny voice.

I always think of this, everytime the power used to go out this is how my dad would sync all the clocks in the house.

667-0123. Back in the day, it would say, "C&P time, is...". Years later, it would make you listen to an ad before giving you the time. I just called it now, and the number is not in service.

864-2193. I just called it, and it still works.
Somehow, I still feel like there's something you can count on in this insane world.

If I remember correctly, we dialed "SPRINGS" (777-4647) for the automated time.

Yea, I remember, although had forgotten about it until now.
I also remember the two letter prefix that started all phone numbers. Those were gone by the early 80's I believe.
