Reading on the Shitter

I know we've joked about it for years, but it makes no sense. I personally don't want to spend any more time with my feces than I have to, and the whole thing seems a tad unhygienic.

I get Entertainment Weekly on a Friday. By the time the next issue arrives, I have read it completely. It's perfect 'shit length'.

Exactly what I think. I'm in there the absolute minimum amount of time I need to push the shit out and do a thorough job of wiping my ass.

The local paper and I always have one novel in there. It takes me forever to finish a novel that way, though. My current selection is A Time to Kill.

I usually have a Maxim in there or something. That, and a copy of Jim Norton's book. That's a good bathroom book. Short chapters, and funny as hell.

I keep magazines in the bathroom. If I am out of magazines I read the directions/labels of toiletries. I know a lot about my toiletries now and the ingredients in each one.

It takes me less then 3 minutes to complete the act of shitting. That would a complete waste of the books time. Besides if I open a book I read a full chapter before closing it - it's the only way.

It's called "quite time" for me. I keep a book or 2 and a few mags in the bathroom. The kids know; when dad is in "the library", you do not disturb him.

This always irks me too... and now I hear more and more people texting while on the bowl, and you know people don't wash their cellphones afterwards.
