I am sure this is completely eclipsed by football this weekend but this 17 year old unranked Ga. girl is kicking ass so far in the u.s. open. I would love to see her end up playing and upsetting one of the Williams sisters.

my wife comes from a strong tennis family. Once she helped me understand the scoring better, I began to enjoy it more.
I hate to say it but she's been really lucky. Every high seed she played played like ass. Sharapova gave her the equivalent of an entire set just in double faults.

I'd rather be lucky than good.

She beat Jankovic in Wimbledon, made it to the 4th round. I actually thought she would make a little run at the Open. Go USA!

I was there today at the Tennis Center and saw her match. She is gritty, tough, and has definite skills. She is only 17 and shows poise of competitors far older then her. Wether she wins or loses her next match, she gave American Tennis a shot in the arm, and it will be great watching her for years to come.
Verdasco really schooled Isler today. His tall lanky reach was no match for Verdasco's ground game and tactics. No contest (unfortunatly). He was the last American man in the Draw and this is the first time there are no American Men in the quarters.

She's cute, but she's no Simona Halep (http://www.ronfez.net/forums/showthread.php?t=80913).

I'm enamored with Maria Sharapova, so I was upset to see that she lost, but this girl is attractive when she's talking to the press. I hope that she wins the whole thing.

I have been watching it... She has speed stamina and technique, good enought o beat the self hating Russians, but not good enough to beat a Williams Brother

I've enjoyed watching her. I love tennis and the US Open and Wimbeldon in particular. I doubt she'd have a chance against Serena or if Venus was still in it.
Boo to no American men being left. Here's hoping for another Nadal/Federer classic.

I was at the US Open Saturday and saw her win against Sharapova. There was definite electric in the air. It was one of the most thrilling exciting moments in sports I've ever seen (in person too!) Good for her!!! Go USA!!

She struggled in the 1st set, as per usual.
This other bitch is hot, though. Kinda hope she loses.
The girl has a bright future but right now she doesn't have a chance against top level talent when they play to their level. That's what happened tonight. Still a great story. Hopefully she continues to develop and comes back and wins this thing in a couple years.
