I love the Beatles, and I know people are excited about Beatles Rock Band but the constant re-packaging of their catalog is getting ridiculous. How many times can you go to the well?
Masters, remasters, limited editions boo!

The CD issues of the Beatles' albums sound like ass. A remaster has been overdue for years.

I bought the original CD's the days that they were released.
The first 3 are still in mono, but they lost some of the tape hiss.
Scottso told me to do it.
Who am I to argue with the 11th Beatle?

What the fuck is a poppycock?
Poppycock - Anglicized form of the Dutch pappekak, which literally means soft dung or diarrhea
This almost as disgusting as when I found out the true meaning of "scumbag" was a cum filled condom. Toned down slang is so much worse than real bad language.

Well, BOOOOOOO-----ster,
That's the answer ANY REAL music fan (Knox) knows by now, Re-Fuck-Gay-Tard.
The original CDs DEFINITELY needed to be remastered. Or at the very least, mastered properly, Asshole.

I am surprised at how their faces do not show emotion in the trailer for the game. In this age of high end graphics you would think it wouldn't be that difficult for Paul to look different when he sings a pretty harmony compared to when he's screaming "Helter Skelter."
Apparently this is not the case.

Man, I still get a kick out of seeing that trailer. It really is an amazing animated short.
I actually wish the game graphics were done in the style of the animation from the trailer.
And the complaint behind this thread seems pretty out of touch: if anything, the Beatles HAVEN'T done what he's complaining about as so many other bands from their era have done. They released their albums pretty early on after CD's showed up and that was it for the longest time until the anthologies showed up and those were some seriously classy collections that were packed with a ton of great music nobody had heard before. Since then we've really only had the #1's collection and the Love album. It's the relative rarity of significant "new" Beatles releases that is making this so huge since the deluge of repackaging and re-releases that the thread is complaining about hasn't actually happened.

I was specifically thinking of the Number 1's album, Love, and the Let it Be remake

Coupled with the anthologies that's basically been it for the entire CD era. That's not a lot at all. The actual albums themselves were only released the one time back in the early days of CD's, so to finally have them with remastered audio is pretty huge.

Mojo's right - compared to everybody else from that era, the Beatles have refrained from milking every last dollar. The Kinks catalog has been reissued at least five times; the Stones four. Four different versions of Who's Next have come out, and three of Live at Leeds...let alone the rest of the catalog.
Let It Be Naked was indeed a dumb release that did nothing but satisfy McCartney's whining about the strings and other added instrumentation to the original album. But the catalog definitely needed a one disc singles compilation, so I have no problem with 1's, and the Anthology sets came out mainly to counteract the booming European bootleg market.
If anything, they waited too long to put these out. If they had come out three years ago when they were initially completed, they'd have sol many more than they will with these.

I'd also point out that you pretty much have to do compilations for the Beatles, because a lot of their best known songs came out as stand-alone singles, and so if you just release the LP's, you'll miss them.
I suppose you could tack the singles onto the album from the period it was recorded (for example, throw the "Strawberry Fields Forever/Penny Lane" single onto "Sgt. Pepper"), but I think it's better to keep the LP's intact.

I know people don't think that Let It Be...Naked was a very good idea. But I would definetly defend that CD. As a matter of fact I tend to like those versions then the actual album.
Let It Be to me is half an album that they made nice enough to release as a goodbye present. Let It Be...Naked I think is what they tried to accomplish musically.
I dunno I'm weird I guess.

I love it personally! I just picked up The White Album and I suddenly have the urge to start a race war by killing someone Roman Pulanski loves.

Past Masters, Vol. 1 and 2 compiles all of the non-album material...except for the singles that turned the British Magical Mystery Tour EP into a full album.
