They don't get the best care money can buy. They get expensive care to be sure, and we all pay for it, but let's not pretend it's top of the line. But none of us with insurance is going to show up at an emergency room if we get cancer.

This can be only be solved with immigration reform, not health care reform. We are not going to provide care for illegal immigrants and neither will we allow people to die in the streets. And health reform will not pay for them to get preventative care. So we need reform to either remove them or, more likely, allow some a pathway to citizenship so they can pay in to the system as well.

I don't want to fight with you, but really want to give you a different perspective on illegal immigrants. You act like they are draining money from our society, but think of the following:

1. They do not receive preventative care, only, for the most part, emergency care.
2. Most don't abuse emergency care priveledges for fear of deportation.
3. If they work "off the books", they are making such little money that the amount of income tax they would pay is tiny.
4. They still pay the same amount of sales tax as every other American.
5. They provide extremely cheap labor for American business's (large and small).
6. They are mostly doing jobs that American's don't want.

So, in the end, do they really cost us money or save us money? It's extremely debatable.

EDIT: One more point. Though their children will use our schools, illegal immigrants that come here at an adult age do not need to be schooled. We are basically getting cheap labor without having to have paid for their public education and up-bringing.

I've always thought the best thing to do is sanely secure our borders, and make the path of citizenship to those already here easier. Don't automatically deport illegals, offer them a realistic path to citizenship. I think that in the end we all kind of want the same thing.
