so far this poll is pretty right. This is a tough one. I can even understand the arguement for basketball and football. Baseball players should not be on this list. They are athletes, of course, but they arent near up there with the others in terms of physical ability needed to play the game. Especially if you are a pitcher

I voted hockey due to the best overall athletes for a team sport, however it's a loaded question. As anyone here who follows sports would admit, every single one of these sports have great athletes, but not all positions on some require it versus size or endurance.

Sports like basketball and football employ size and strength at certain positions, while others require great endurance and mental awareness such as soccer defenders, along with pitchers and catchers in baseball. Great athletes such as forwards (whatever they may be called in either sport) are usually the best athletes, but some also play defense or goalie in sports like hockey and soccer. Football is the biggest mix of all the major sports as one would expect.
