Last night I watched Rachel Getting Married - fucking fantastic film. Powerful, to say the least. Anyway, in the film, Rachel and her husband to be are exchanging vows, and he begins to sing Unknown Legend by Neil Young. Now, I love Neil Young, but when he sings that song, it wasn't a song I could care to listen to again. But, in this movie, he sang it, and it meant more to me, and how it was sung just captivated me. Rachel's husband singing the song was more compelling and moving than Neil Young.

Has anyone else experienced this while watching a movie?

(don't worry, it stops before anything too NSFW happens)

There is a chorale arrangement of Ace of Base's The Sign in the movie Slackers. It certainly makes the song a lot more better, and it was wierd to realize what song it was once the chorus kicked in.

And I guess it's a cover but Sugar High from Empire Records isn't nearly as good on the album version as in the movie. And poor Liv Tyler had to hear a guy sing about eating out her mother.
