Hi gang,
I was wondering if anyone here has ever worked as a personal trainer. I just got certified and not some lame you work in a gym here your a trainer nonsense. i went back to school did an internship and got cpr certified. now i must put this to work, i'm hesitant to apply to some monster gym since i don't really like them but i'm resigned that I might have to start there to get some experience. Any advice would be appreciated.

Probably not as lucrative as the larger gyms but you may be able to get a job .with the YMCA. Our local Y actually has a nice gym.

Hook up with a physical therapist/pt office to refer people. From there you can work anywhere it takes you.

I think El Jefe worked as one for a while. You can probably still find him on Myspace. He'd probably be happy to help, if you mention Ron & Fez.

My wife completed a personal trainer certification through AFA earlier this year- it was a bear. She works at a municipal health club teaching aerobics and Zumba and occasionally trains. I am sure you could catch on at a local gym.
