View Full Version : Sacagawea and Susan B. Anthony Can Kiss My Ass!

I took the Long Island Railroad into NYC the other day and for some unknown reason I decided to use cash instead of my ATM Card to buy a ticket. I put a $20 in and I get back a combination of Sacagawea and Susan B. Anthony dollar coins.

(I hate these things, they make me feel like I'm Canada or something.)

Anyway, I say to myself "no big deal, I'll use them to buy a ticket on the way back".

WRONG!

I find out later on that while the lovely convenient ticket machines do use these coins to provide change, they will not except them as payment.

Bullshit!

Now I'm stuck with a ton of these coins with pictures of uptight bitches on them.

Every time I try to spend one I have to tell the cashier "no, thats a dollar, not a quarter" and then ensure them that it is American currency.

I know the US is pretty much the last country to be using paper currency with denominations as low as a dollar, but if the government wants to switch to dollar coins they should commit to the transition already. These coins have been out since the 70s, yet most people have never seen one.

How about those presidential dollar coins with George Washington or the other presidents on them?

People act like they never seen it before and don't know it's legal tender.

Go to your bank and exchange them for paper currency or deposit them. And if you use LIRR, check your credit card statement every month. They have been caught double charging people lately.

Don't hate on Susan B. Anthony. She got arrested in 1872. For voting. She deserves better than some shitty coin.

Kinda my point, she did so much to further the cause for women and we remember her as the ugly broad on a coin no one wants

Any stamp machine I've used at the Post Office was credit or debit card only.
