I am watching a baseball game and thinking this might be the most congratulatory sport out there.

You walk, make it to 1st, the 1b coach congratulates you. Someone else gets a hit, you reach 3rd, you get the 3b coach to congratulate you.

God forbid you score, the guy on deck congratulates you, you wait to maybe congratulate anyone who scores, and then you all walk to the dugout. WHERE THE ENTIRE TEAM IS WAITING. they all get off their asses, even the scrubs, to congratulate you. Then you wait around to congratulate anyone else.

Every time the inning ends and you come off the field, you get a glove pat.

Don't even start with pitchers and visits to the mound.

Can you think of another sport where you get congratulated more by your own team?

A close second might be football, but even then I don't think the entire team celebrates every little thing that happens like in baseball.

Miss a free throw and your teammates give you a high 5.
Huh?

and then when you win the game, the entire team gathers on the field for hi-5's with each other (even on the road).

how about hockey? group hug any time you score a goal, then fist-bumps down the bench. when you win, everyone head-butts the goalie. plus, if you score a hatrick in the right arena, free calamari!

but, they do the gentlemanly lineup and shake hands with the opposing team after each playoff round, so i guess it's not all one-sided.

I'm not sure but I think in soccer, when you score, you take your shirt off and everybody makes out.

Getting on base in an mlb game is difficult. Taking a walk shows that a batter is good or the pitcher is shit.

what about hockey? You have a 45 second shift and 15 guys on the bench tell you nice job and shit. all sports are like that.
