View Full Version : Safari Fucking Blows
That's right, I said it.
I've never been a fan since day 1 but I keep trying it. I download all the latest updates and security patches, but I HATE THIS FUCKING BROWSER.
It is slow as fuck.
There are TONS of sites it won't display correctly.
And the new opening page eats shit.
Apple can update this fucker until the cows come home, but the simple truth is that it can't touch any of the Mozilla builds, namely Firefox and Camino.
Whew.
I feel better now.
Thanks.

Great Adventure has a Safari. I knew a guy that choked an orstrich that stuck its head through the car window.
I think the Great Adventure safari even has an endangered Fire Fox!

Yup. My custom built pc destroys anything mac has out there, other than major art house computers. If I was rich, I could make a computer that destroys it.

As far as you Mac haters, you really do not know how reliable it is and stable and secure. I am glad less people are into Macs though, because if they were popular, the assholes who make virus's would start targeting them.

You hate macs but you love the os? LOL
Download idneb or kalyway and install leopard on your pc box and stfu.
And if your safari is that much slower it might be corrupted, kill the preference file and turn on tunneling.
LOVE Macs, despise PCs.
And even though I dig Firefox, Camino does everything it does, but faster.

Yeah, I'm wondering what's up with Gvac's installation of Safari. Though I don't use it in Windows, on OS X, I occasionally give Firefox a whirl, but I come running back to Safari. I can't really recall any sites that Safari wouldn't open that Firefox wouldn't.
Unless this is Gvac's mac:

You Mac lovers are buying a pc. Yep, as I have pointed out before you are paying a premium for the OS and nothing more. Asus the maker of Windows based laptops and computer components makes the Mac. There is only one difference aside from the OS and that is the BIOS that tells OSX that it can start up without hacking it. You just paid $700 more for something I can buy at Best Buy with Windows loaded on it.
If you have the desktop Mac, crack the case one day and look for that big gold or white lettering that says Asus. You own a pc, and paid out the ass for it to be in a white case.

Well, we also get to be known as the tech intelligentsia of the new wave. Until Steve Jobs kicks the bucket, then all the Macs across the world will engage their secret programming and turn into yellow gremlins that run across Foghat's room until he goes insane.
Don't ask me why Jobs set 'em up that way, the guy's a fackin' genius wackaloon anyways.

I have a Mac, and a question for you smartie pantses.
Got an email today telling me about the new Snow Leopard OS.
It's only 29 bucks, but do I need it? Reading thru the update, it doesnt seem like anything amazingly new.
Those in the know, what say you?

I doubt this will help, but since I just bought my iMac on Saturday, it was only $10 for me to upgrade, so I went for it. By their website, it looks pretty decent, so I think it is probably worth $29.

What I read is the major upgrade is a speedier OS, so it may be worth it.

Fuck MS, stick with iWorks or OpenOffice, both are MS compatable.

There's a ton of stuff under the hood in this upgrade. First, the core Mac apps (Mail, iCal, Safari, etc.) will go to 64 bit, which means that they should run much faster and be more stable.
The new version of Quick Time beats the shit out of the current version, and even tosses in some stuff that had only been available in Quick Time Pro before, like some video editing capabilities.
Also, the direct Exchange support is kick ass too. Using it, you can sign up for Google's sync service on their calendars and contacts, and tell MobileMe to go fuck itself.

The other speculation I'm hearing is that the major OS revision is in the works, but Apple needed a sort of transitory update between Leopard and whatever the next big cat will be to get there.
That's a big reason why they've kind of downplayed expectations on this one by giving it a name so close to the old one, and keeping the price down on it.

I had heard that too, the people over at Mac are better at keeping secrets. I also had read (from 2 pc sources) that this release was timed to beat Win 7 out of the gate.
