You must set the ad_network_ads.txt file to be writable (check file name as well).

A certain site that I frequent seems to have disappeared I can no longer "cheggit" out. Anyone have a suggestion on a alternative site for similar content or even what happened to that one

Uh, are you sure it wasn't just temporarily down for a few hours? It's still there.
