I needed an F-F barrel coax connector today and you had just the ticket for a pretty good price. Outstanding.

It's a shame that they have gotten rid of most of the items that made their business in the first place. In the 70s they would still have the parts kids would use for a science project, now they just sell the science project itself.
Most weird, is 20 years ago you could buy connectors and adapters currently compatible with wi-fi there, and today they don't even know that most router antennae are removable.
I still pop in to look at the yellow tickets, though.

I remember being a wee tot and going to Radio Shack with my dad so he could test our TV tubes.
They're good for cables and other things one would need to connect things to other things. Their TVs, radios, answering machines, etc ALL SUCK!!!
Like calling themselves "The Shack" is going to help? They're not that cheap. How about offering a better product?

Radio Shack's Optima car stereos were made by Alpine, of course some cheaper components.
The VCRs were made then by JVC.
I also remember being able to buy "micro components" and making a simple computer.

I used to get all my adapters for my game consoles from them. I can't believe they outlasted circuit city, how did that happen?

Anything I've bought from THE SHACK (other than cables and the like) have broken down on me. That's MY experience.

radio shack has a loyal customer base- old people.
circuit city was just a weaker best buy.

I haven't purchased a lot from radio shack. But I've noticed a lot of their stuff is garbage.
I've really only bought generic stuff that you can get anywhere, batteries, phone jack cover, rj-45 crimper etc.

All things that can now be found in dollar stores.

I went into The Shack last week to buy an amplifier for headphones. The employee didn't know what I was talking about, and they did have one in stock that was a splitter with amplification built in.

I still go to buy wire connectors, wire straps, etc. all little stuff since it is near my place and I HATE Walmart.
