I'm going crazy trying to figure this out...

Say I have a DVD of a Season of Episodes from a TV show...I want to rip those episodes and "back them up" as xvid files so I can load them on my Media Player. I don;t need any of the extras off the DVD's, just the basic episodes.

Is there an understandable step-by-step guide with links to free or "usable" software around? I've been going insane trying to figure this out.

I attempted to use DVDFab and while the video looked good, the audio was awful and low. I played with the settings but it didn't help much. THEN I tried dvddecrypter to extract the DVD to my drive and use DVD shrink to reduce the files into smaller files - but it still made them into a DVD (Video_TS folder with vob files). I thought dvdshrink converted to xvid but I was wrong I guess.

:wallbash:

Slysoft is the best ap around for "backing up" DVDs. Check it out, certainly worth a few bucks.

now if you want to ask WHICH slysoft product.....
I'm guessing DVD CloneDVD™ mobile

The big thing he wants to do is make xvids with this.
He already can use DVDfab to "back up" but it wont make his xvids.
